Did Andrew Meyer deserve to be tasered?

By Ben Cohen

Want further proof that Americans live in a police state? Check out this video of a student in Florida being tasered at a John Kerry forum for asking too many questions. There is no doubt Andrew Meyer was being obnoxious, and was clearly over excited at the prospect of confronting John Kerry on several issues, but there was absolutely no need to pin him down and electrocute him. well, i agree that the taser was too excessive, but he was also resisting arrest by several police officers. not only that, it appears that he was able to continue shouting and walking at the end, so we can assume that the shock was pretty mild. I don't want to sound too harsh, but they did warn him several times before, and he continued his resistance. Personally, instead of resisting arrest, I would rather call attention to the public and get all the officers' names noted for their excessive force... but then again, im not much a squeaky wheel when it comes to political movements.

I read this in the paper...The guy apparently got "a bit too carried away" after trying to ask Kerry whether he thinks Bush should be impeached...definitely grounds on which to use a tazer gun on a student. That will make him love the establishment just that little bit more.
